Equal Housing Opportunity

December 2016 Featured Program

In October, RSI’s Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) staff traveled to Ohio for the first annual national conference for benefits and work incentives specialists put on by NABWIS. Established in 2007, the goal of NABWIS is to serve as a medium for deliberation, exchange of ideas, knowledge, skills and experiences, and for compilation and dissemination of information for work and benefits practitioners. This conference featured sessions from all over the country.

Mark Mehlhoff, Terry Peterson and myself were also asked to present at the conference. With over 70 in attendance for their breakout session, it was a success and we received positive feedback about it the rest of the time that we were there.

We all were very excited to have brought some of the methods we developed as benefits planners in ND to the national stage and look forward to continued communication with the projects we networked with while there and of course, seeing everyone again at next year’s conference.

If you or someone you know has any questions regarding their Social Security Disability Benefits, please call Amy Bergan, Benefits Planner at 701-839-4240.
